Steven Shiau proudly announced a new stable release of its popular Clonezilla Live operating system, used for cloning hard disk drives.

Clonezilla Live 1.2.11-23 is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures and includes major improvements and various bugfixes.

Clonezilla Live 1.2.11-23 is powered by Linux kernel 3.1.1-1 and features Partclone 0.2.38 and Gdisk 0.8.1. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository as of November 28th, 2011.

A new mode, called 1-2-mdisks, was added to the main menu of Clonezilla, to easily restore one image to multiple disks. Very useful when making massive USB flash drives!

Clonezilla Live 1.2.11-23 has support for VMFS5 cloning and imaging, as well as an improved GRUB2, for EFI booting, being able to boot a Macintosh machine from a USB flash disk (MBR partition table).

Among other changes in Clonezilla Live 1.2.11-23 we can mention that the cpufrequtils package was added, the -pa|--postaction option was added to ocs-onthefly (to shutdown or reboot a machine after cloning), and the volume name of NTFS and DOS partitions will be displayed before the restore process.

Last but not least, the restoreparts and restoredisk options will be shown only when an images exist in the image repository.

Clonezilla Live 1.2.11-23 also includes the following fixes: -k1 option bug fixed, NFS 4 bug fixed, NTFS partitions cloning with Clonezilla 64-bit edition fixed, Windows 7 "system reserved partition" will no longer be enlarged if restoring with the -k1 option.
